ADMISSIONS
Thank you for your interest in the Yellow House Community. We are currently accepting applications for residency. Each applicant has unique strengths, qualities, and needs. To understand the profile of residents we believe we can best support at YHC, please take time to review the Resident Profile prior to completing an application. Within the Application for Residency is an overview of our application review and trial processes.
VISIT YHC
Thank you for your interest in visiting the Yellow House Community! Out of respect for the privacy of our residents, we do not accommodate individual requests for tours/visits. We do, however, offer a monthly tour open to the public. Please email elise@yellowhousecommunity.com for details and to reserve a spot. Spacing is limited per tour and RSVPs are required.
Please note that residential applicants may be invited to visit YHC as outlined in Step Four of the Application for Residency.

We are actively seeking Full Time and Part Time applicants for the following positions. Please note that all positions are year-round.
- Daytime Sidekick
- Evening Sidekick
- Overnight Sidekick
- Substitutes for the above Sidekick positions

VOLUNTEER
Are you interested in making a difference in the life of a YHC Friend? At the Yellow House, we recognize and celebrate the talents of our greater community members. We invite you to share your special gift with us!
We are in the process of formalizing our volunteer application and training. Thank you for your patience. Please note that due to COVID, volunteer opportunities are limited at this time.
Volunteers enrich daily programming in a variety of ways. Examples include leading or supporting Friends with the following activities:
- Artist-in-Residence sessions
- Cooking and baking
- Reading aloud
- Gardening
- Hiking
- Swimming
- Skiing
- Snowshoeing
- Exploring town on the ACTR bus
- Leading or hosting fieldtrips
- Teaching Yoga, Tai Chi, or other practices
- Accompanying Friends to sporting events
- Your PASSION – the possibilities are endless!
All volunteers are required to pass a criminal background check prior to participating with YHC.
